It has been quite a week to say the least. On Saturday, March 24th I broke part of a molar with a filling in it off. Sunday, March 25th we celebrated my mother-in-law's 80th birthday at a beautiful restaurant located on a golf course. Kaye was overjoyed because all of her uncles, aunts and cousins could sign her cast! Monday, March 26th I called my dentist and they said they could not get me in to look at my tooth until the following Monday, so I booked the appointment. That night I started to have computer problems with my laptop, but also problems with a molar (crowned molar with a root canal) on the opposite side of my mouth. I was up all night with pain. I called the dentist the next day and got an appointment for 10:20am since I was in pain. Two hours after they numbed me up, I had the tooth extracted (looking back now, I should have just had it extracted years ago instead of going through the root canal and crown process that cost over $800!) The dentist told me the tooth was extremely abcessed and put me on Vicodin and Amoxicillin. I had my husband go to the pharmacy for me on his work time, because there was no way I could go with how much my mouth was bleeding. He took off the next day to take/pick up Em from school and keep Kaye occupied during the day. I was in a lot of pain and slept a lot. Jay went into work late that Thursday so he could take Em to school and I picked her up that day. By Friday I still could not open my mouth much and it was still a bit swollen. I am doing much better, but my computer is not and I am missing it! Jay's co-worker has my laptop and is running programs on it to try to remedy the problem----most likely a virus. I'm hoping I don't lose the information I have on my laptop, but I may have no choice. Needless to say, this is why I have not been blogging the past week and a half. I am using Em's laptop, but it's not 'mine' and is much smaller. I am hoping to hear some news soon on my laptop. Just a reminder to everyone reading this: BACK UP YOUR FILES!!!! You never know when something like this will happen. Luckily I don't think I have too much of importance to lose on my laptop, but of course there are things (clog-related too) that I would rather not lose. ~Elle~

Well, no 'virtual me' post today.  So much for the relaxing evening I hoped for on Thursday night.  Kaye, my 5 year old daughter, fell off her bike Thursday evening and  dislocated her arm and broke it in two places.  We were at the E.R. from 7pm Thursday, until 2:30am Friday.  They sedated her twice using a drug called ketamine, which made her glassy-eyed and was very scary for me.  They used this sedative because they need to try to get her bone back in place.  They took soooooo many x-rays (about 16 at the E.R.).  We went to a hand specialist on Friday afternoon because the orthopedic doctor from the E.R. was concerned about the bone lining up properly, as well as the nerve that runs to the fingers; she wasn't having a lot of movement in her hand.  So Friday they did some more x-rays and the x-ray technician was very concerned about how much radiation she had been exposed to.  I was not happy to say the least and am also concerned about how many of these x-rays are actually going to be covered on my insurance.  They did not put a regular cast on her because they want to do another x-ray this Thursday at her visit and see what it reveals.  She is on Motrin and Tylenol with codeine which are taken alternately throughout the day.  Her pain definitely seems to have lessened, which makes me very happy.
I have had a very unrestful three days.  I did not sleep much Thursday night, caught up on some sleep Friday night, had to get up early Saturday morning to take Em for blood work that her pediatrician requested from her nine year well visit, and then last night, Saturday, Kaye feel asleep before dinner and then woke up around 11pm and would not go back to sleep.  I am so hoping for a near normal nights sleep tonight.
So, not the post I was hoping to share, but I wanted to let everyone know this is what has happened and that I hope I will be able to focus on some fun posts in the near future.  Thanks for your understanding!

Hello out there in cyber-land! It's been 10 months since I've blogged here! Ay, Ay, Ay!
I am so sorry about that. (not sure anyone is even aware of my blog, but I'm going to try to continue with it this year and hope 'someone' is interested).

I'm not going to try to recount the happenings in my life from 2010. Too much to rehash, a lot of it not good or exciting stuff. Instead, I will press forward and tell you about 2011 thus far.

Let's start with last night, shall we. I took down the Christmas tree yesterday, re-arranged the living room and put some of the Christmas decor up in the attic. So what happens last night? After I give the kids a bath and while Jay is taking a shower, I go in the basement and there is water all over the laundry room and in the back storage area. The hot water heater burst! Yeah.

Christmas night we had water over half the laundry room because we had roots in our lateral line. In the past we've had issues (flooding in the basement because of hurricanes, laundry hose on the loose, etc.) but never two incidents this close together. Is God testing our patience or what? We will survive. I am very thankful hubby has a friend who is a plumber and came over to help and will be back tomorrow morning. Guess who doesn't get to take a shower until this is all fixed? Me of course ;-)

Jay and his plumber friend are buying the new water heater as I type this. I cannot wait to take a shower and of course I have a lot of laundry to do.

What else can I tell you about 2011? I've only exercised once on my elliptical because I've been dealing with tummy issues. I probably ate too much junk over the holidays and am paying for it now. I started out with a great attitude and outlook, but I think the winter blahs/depression is setting in. I think I have Seasonal Affective Disorder (S.A.D.). Maybe time to sit by the window to get some sunshine or turn on one of those 'special' lights.

So for now, that's about all I can say about 2011. I only hope it gets better from here. I also hope I keep my promise to myself to be a more active blogger.

If you are reading this, Thanks.
