This is the prequel to 'The Beach House'. The book tells the story of Caretta's mother, Olivia 'Lovie" Rutledge during the summer of 1974 and a bit beyond. You learn more about Lovie's upbringing, her marriage, her life struggles, and her love for the loggerhead turtles and her beach house.
