Easter Eggs!

Today is Good Friday and our tradition is to color our Easter eggs on this day. The weather was cool and breezy, but I decided to let the girls color the eggs outside. I had bought an egg coloring sand kit after Easter last year and figured this would be much less messy outdoors.  It turns out that the kit was basically the coloring tabs,3 little bags of sand (orange, blue and pink) and a small tube of clear glue.  The kids were excited about it, but lost interest after the first few.  They'd much rather color with crayon on the eggs and them dip them in the dyes.  Towards the end of coloring the eggs I sprinkled sand onto the wet dipped eggs and found that the sand stuck!  Not sure if it will still be stuck to the egg once it is dried, but it was less messy to just sprinkle it onto the egg in comparison to the glue.  Oh, and the reason the 2nd carton is missing 4 eggs is because they cracked when I boiled them this morning and we had egg salad with them for lunch!

Here is a link for everyone out there who will be dying eggs and trying to get the dye off of their hands!
